Bernice Stochek Friedson, gave her first solo recital at the age of seven, and has been performing in solo and chamber music recitals in the tn-state area ever since, including appearances on WQXR and WNYC. She trained in New York at the Juilliard and Mannes Schools of Music. She has been concertmaster for many area orchestras, and currently performs with the Greater Bridgeport Symphony as well other area ensembles. A long-time Westport resident, she is also a founder and first violinist of the Connecticut String Quartet. She teaches in her home in Westport, and at the MACH School of Music in Bridgeport, where she is a string and chamber music specialist. She plays exclusively on a violin made by her father, Samuel A. Stochek.
