Sayard Stone studied at the Juilliard School of Music, and has directed the Queens Symphony Orchestra and co-directed the Manhattan Opera Theatre. He is also artistic director for the “America’s Youth in Concert” festival at Carnegie Hall. Maestro Kousevitsky and Leonard Bernstein were Mr. Stone’s teachers when he studied at Tanglewood. In addition to his work with the CCO, Mr. Stone has had guest appearances with the Concertgebow Orchestra in Amsterdam, and the Munich and Vienna Chamber Orchestras. He has also recorded with the Bavarian radio and Vienna Opera Orchestra. Mr. Stone’s recent discovery of an unknown Mendelssohn Piano Concerto #3 led to an invitation to record the Concerto with the celebrated English Chamber Orchestra in London. The CD is now released worldwide.
